"One blaze of glory" Jared is going to be a rock star when he grows up. At least, that is his plan. Unfortunately for him, his gene pool does not really support this goal. Luckily for him, at 4 years old, he doesnt realize this. Earlier tonight I took a video of Jared performing. Grandma sent a toy keyboard, guitar, and microphone for his birthday. He loves itespecially the microphone because its the headset type, just like Roger wears in Rent (Seriously, all week the kid has been carrying around the program/book thingie I got the first time I saw the play and was intrigued by the microphone. He also brought it with to show the hairdresser on Tuesday. He had to make sure he got the perfect spiky Roger haircut!). All day he has been practicing his One Song Glory for us. His rendition is priceless. He does a beautiful job of both imitating the song and butchering it beyond belief. Drop me an email if you want to see it and I didnt already send it to you. Its funny, though, because all week Ive been pondering various ways to reply to the question Do you sing? I was asked this recently via email from someone Ive just met online. It was an innocent question, and I feel just awful making fun of it. But, Im not really making fun of the question. Im making fun of myself and my lack of singing ability. Lisa and Ryan were very quick to laugh their asses off at the mere thought of me singing and tossed out all kinds of flip answers that made fun of me. Although, next to Ryan I am a freakin Grammy winner! Anyway, to answer the question: Do I sing? All the time! Do I sing WELL? Hell, no! I love singing. I always wanted to be a drama kid. But, well, that small fear of public speaking got in the way. I havent been in a play since I was in 6th grade. It was my fantasy, but I never did anything about it. I decided to write instead. And date musicians. I made a really good backstage groupie! 0 comments Listening to: Reading: Eating/drinking: Do what to me?!? - April 24, 2007 Wicked funny websearch - April 05, 2007 Trot out the dogs 'n ponies - March 31, 2007 Almost done... - March 20, 2007 Who am I? - March 12, 2007 READ ME |
