"How do you feel today?" Oh my gosh...we had another major illness wave roll through our home. Jared got strep again. Bailey and I avoided that one, but we both got the most wicked stomach flu ever. Me, being me, ended up in the ER where I was so dehydrated that they couldn't even find a vein to put the IV into. That was fun (*rolls eyes*). Luckily for Ryan, he dodged both the strep and the stomach flu bullets. Not Debra. She had her turn with the nasty flu last week. Hopefully we will all stay healthy for the last 5 weeks of school. My home computer has been a real pain in the tushie. It has a major freezing issue when I'm online. I need to call tech support and figure out if there is some setting that is too restrictive and is causing this, or if I need to send it in yet again to be looked at. Frustrating, considering the computer is not even a year old. I really don't like working on my diary at school, so no access means no updates. I've been itching to get in here with the Disneyland photos and pics of Bailey ice skating. Now, I have pictures from yesterday's Giants game to add to that list. Speaking of yesterday, I hope that all the mommies out there had a wonderful day. I did. I woke to cuddles from my boys. Then, we went to the game with my parents. Afterwards Ryan, the boys, and I went to dinner at Hobee's (yum!). Mom came over to watch Survivor and drink Starbucks. All in all, a relaxing day full of time with my children and my mommy. I couldn't ask for more (OK, well, the Dodgers could have lost, and Terry could have won, but that's it!). Today we have a "staff learning day" which means no students, but lots of meetings. There are only 23 more school days left this year. And, the last three barely count as school days--there is the Great America field trip and two minimum days filled with graduation practice in there. Hardly brain-draining. In all honestly, I feel like I really only have 9 days left, because after that, we move into the all-exciting Human Growth & Development Unit. Wheeeeeee! Canned curriculum, no thinking or planning involved. I can actually sort-of coast through those days. That will be nice after a year of learning new curriculum and working my tail off even more than usual on lesson plans. As for my astronomy class, we had the fist midterm last week and the second one is coming up in 9 days. We get our tests back today, but I'm not concerned about mine. I left feeling very confident and I'd be beyond shocked if I didn't get a high A on it. I have already finished my reading and flash cards for the next exam. All that is left to prepare is whatever we go over in class during the next three lectures. It really is nice to feel ahead and well prepared. Wow, that leads me to another thought...about being prepared. I couldn't have planned these segues better if I'd tried! On Saturday I went to one of those meal prep places for the first time. I had a blast and left with enough food to feed the family 20-22 dinners. I am definitely going back next month. It was 2 hours out of my weekend and now we have all these dinners ready to go. We were all getting bored of plain pasta, turkey burgers, and marinated chicken breasts. Not that we won't still make that stuff, but now it won't be every single week so we won't be bored. We have great stuff in the freezer, like chicken with cornbread stuffing, pesto chicken, salmon with confetti rice, pineapple salsa chicken, stuffed manicotti, asian chicken wraps, stuffed bread, lemon tarragon chicken... I'm getting hungry just typing this out! Alright, I suppose that it's time to get my butt over to the meeting. I'll be back as soon as my laptop lets me online long enough to update... Don't hold your breath, but feel free to cross your fingers that I can work out the issue... past | future0 comments Listening to: the AC unit in my classroom Reading: No One to Trust by Iris Johansen (it's OK...not super like I'd hoped) Eating/drinking: Venti Soy Cinnamon Latte Do what to me?!? - April 24, 2007 Wicked funny websearch - April 05, 2007 Trot out the dogs 'n ponies - March 31, 2007 Almost done... - March 20, 2007 Who am I? - March 12, 2007 READ ME |
