Home from shopping... ...and our bank account is about $400 lighter, but we got some good stuff. We got 3 nights of Hanukkah taken care of for the boys: *DVD night: Madagascar and Shark Tale That stuff is now wrapped and tagged. Since these are gifts for them to share, they don't have names on them, just numbers. I think I'm going to ask my mom to keep them at her house. I'm afraid that Jared would have no concerns about opening a gift he found in the closet, and I'm sure that his brother would be more than happy to encourage him. I plan to do our usual stand-bys as well for the rest of the nights. They usually include slippers, books, calendars, plus a couple of other little things that they want/need. We don't make a huge deal out of Hanukkah. We give the kids stuff they need and stuff that makes for good family time. We don't even exchange gifts among the adults. We also got a couple of new storage bins for the kids' toys, a DVD player for upstairs, Trivial Purusit Pop Culture 2, Harry Potter Scene It (an early birthday gift for me), a Dustbuster (a must with kids and our old one died), some rechargable batteries for the digital camera, The Butterfly Effect on DVD...and a few more odds and ends that I can't remember right now. Oh yeah, and we picked up a DVD for each of my parents for their birthdays. My mom was just telling me that she wants The Phantom of the Opera, so we grabbed that for her and we got Hoosers for my Dad. We are still trying to figure out what to get Jared for his birthday. We make a big deal out of birthdays. He got toy kitchen (hand-built by me) for his 2nd birthday and a bike for his 3rd birthday.... Any ideas for a good birthday gift for an over-active 4 year old boy?!? We are drawing a major blank! Alright, I am hungry and I think I'm going to try and talk Ryan into taking me out for breakfast while we are kidless. past | future0 comments Listening to: Reading: Eating/drinking: Do what to me?!? - April 24, 2007 Wicked funny websearch - April 05, 2007 Trot out the dogs 'n ponies - March 31, 2007 Almost done... - March 20, 2007 Who am I? - March 12, 2007 READ ME |
