Here's to fun weekends! It was one of those really busy, but all good busy weekends. You already know that we went to see Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire on Friday night. After I posted, Ryan and I got to talking about the movie. He said that there wasnt really any depth to it. And, I think hes right. I know the back story. I know what was left out, what was changed, and whats coming next. So, I was able to sit in the theater and combine what I already know with what was happening on the screen. The movie was light. It was light in the sense that it was much funnier than the 3rd movie. But, it was also light in depth of character and depth of story. Still good, justfluffy. I guess thats what happens when you try to cram a 700+ page book into one movie (even if that movie is over 2 1/2 hours long). Interesting take, and Im glad that he mentioned it to me. For some reason I couldnt sleep Friday night. Well, I slept, I just kept waking up. So, Saturday I was a complete zombie. Ryan took the kids out to the park and I slept for a few hours. I really did nothing on Saturday. I never even got dressed. It was just one of those quiet days around the house. Sunday we did our weekly breakfast out. Afterwards, we went to a basketball game. There is a new semi-pro (ABA) team in San Jose and this was opening weekend. Someone I work with scored free tickets. For those of you that dont know: the short version of How Ryan and I met is going to UCSB basketball games while we were still students there. At that time the Gauchos were legendary for getting a lead, then falling apart and losing by about 5 points. Ryan and I had a running jokeAll we need is a 4 point shot with a foul. Well, the ABA has a 4 point shot. Really! If you make that half-court-at-the-buzzer shot and youre behind the half court line, its 4 points. They also have some rule where if you get fouled away from the ball before the shot, the next shot is worth one extra point (something like that). Basically, its like someone said, Hey, remember all those ridiculous rules we used to make up on the playground as kids? Lets put them in the rule book. Very amusing. Still, it was a fun, high scoring game and the boys had a blast. We walked around downtown for a little while after the game, grabbed some dinner, then came home and played the DVD Trivial Pursuit. The game went on forever. I think it lasted for an hour after I got all 6 pieces. I could not get the final question right to save my life. Ryan finally caught up with me. He couldnt get a final question right either. I got 2 or 3 of his right before I finally got one that I could answer. Nice weekend. Fun weekend. And, as far as work goes, this week is overso its the weekend again! 0 comments Listening to: Reading: Eating/drinking: Do what to me?!? - April 24, 2007 Wicked funny websearch - April 05, 2007 Trot out the dogs 'n ponies - March 31, 2007 Almost done... - March 20, 2007 Who am I? - March 12, 2007 READ ME |
