Faith Last Wednesday night we went to temple for Kol Nidre, the eve of Yom Kippur. The service starts with a beautifully chanted prayer during which the Torah is removed from the ark and held for all to see. We are not overly religious in that we don't go to temple every week. My kids are not used to seeing the Torah and don't know all the customs that go with it. Jared, however, was watching with rapt enthusiasm. Jared: gasp "Mommy, I see him. Is that him?" Me: Him? Him who? The rabbi from our wedding? "Um, yes, OK, I guess you're right, that's him." Jared: look of sheer bliss on his face "Oh, Mommy! I see him! I see G-d!" past | future0 comments Listening to: Reading: Eating/drinking: Do what to me?!? - April 24, 2007 Wicked funny websearch - April 05, 2007 Trot out the dogs 'n ponies - March 31, 2007 Almost done... - March 20, 2007 Who am I? - March 12, 2007 READ ME |
