I'm melting.......... Is it too much to ask that I have functioning air conditioning in my classroom? Again, this all goes back to wonderful Dr. Bitch being clueless. The air and heat have not worked in this classroom for over a year. The key for this classroom was missing for over a year. Room D6 was vacant for the entire school year last year. Yet, we used it sometimes...for standardized testing, to work with small reading groups... Our secretary knew for 12 months that the heat, the air, and the key were all non existant. She reported it to the principal several times (so she says, and I believe her). Of course, when Dr. Bitch made the room assignments for summer school, she took none of that into consideration. I have now reported the lack of air conditioning 11 times. I have gone so far as to email the Superintendent of my district. Today it is in the mid-90's here. It is a "spare the air" day, so opening the windows is something I'm not supposed to do. My students are sitting in here, hot and sweaty. The lights are off (it's the least I can do to keep it a bit cooler). And they are trying their hardest to give me an essay that will pass the writing sample test. How can I expect them to concentrate when I feel like I'm evaporating into a little pool of sweat? 0 comments Listening to: Reading: Eating/drinking: Do what to me?!? - April 24, 2007 Wicked funny websearch - April 05, 2007 Trot out the dogs 'n ponies - March 31, 2007 Almost done... - March 20, 2007 Who am I? - March 12, 2007 READ ME |
