Putt-putt, pain, & pie...oh my! I was supposed to go to a Mom's Night Out last night. But, this week has been so long with Ryan gone, Open House, Biology lab, and trying to get ready for next week's lab exam that I was just exhausted. I can't drink because of the medication I'm taking, so I didn't go. I didn't think I'd be able to stay awake. Instead, we decided to have a fun family evening. We took the boys miniature golfing for the first time. I was pleasantly surprised. They were able to be patient and wait their turn, even when we had to wait for the group ahead of us. They did not get frustrated and throw tantrums. Instead, they were both so cute and enthusiastic. Bailey managed to get the ball in the hole every time, although some of them were way over the 6 putt limit. Some were under, too. He even managed to get a hole in one...twice. The second one was on hole 18, which was the toughest one on the course. Bailey's biggest obstacle was getting over his need to hit the ball while it was still moving. I just kept telling him that this is not baseball, and he finally got it. Jared got the ball in the hole every time, too. His method is to pick the ball up, place it right next to the hole, and putt from there. The most amazing thing is that he managed to miss most of the time. Jared tripped coming up some cement steps and gave himself a pretty good bump & bruise next to his right eye. He wasn't even bothered by it until after we finished golfing. After mini golf we took them over to Marie Callenders for dessert. They were still well behaved and charming our waitress. Outings like this are so wonderful. I love it when we can have fun without having to fight for peace. We definitely plan to take another trip to Golfland. Today, though, Jared woke with a huge black eye, so we are off to Kaiser. I need to get a couple of pictures, too, for his scrapbook. My son's first black eye...what a milestone! past | future0 comments Listening to: Reading: Eating/drinking: Do what to me?!? - April 24, 2007 Wicked funny websearch - April 05, 2007 Trot out the dogs 'n ponies - March 31, 2007 Almost done... - March 20, 2007 Who am I? - March 12, 2007 READ ME |
