Target It should have been an easy errand. Really. All I wanted to do was get a couple of laundry baskets to replace the ones that the boys decorated with ball-point pen. Except, there are about 10 different types of laundry baskets at Target. Bailey had one favorite, which was so flimsy that it would break the first time Jared sailed down the stairs in it. Jared had a different favorite that was very tiny. It really wasn't worth fighting about. So, I told them that Daddy would have to come back to choose a basket since he does the laundry anyway. At least the excuse made sense to them. Then, we walked by the CD's and Bailey spotted Kid's Bop 7. And, he just "had" to have it. I would have loved to buy it for him, but it's $15, and that's frivolous money that I don't have right now. He whined a bit, but got over it pretty quickly. I did tell him that if he does chores and saves up some money, I'll split the cost of the CD with him. He liked that idea. We stopped to get Jared new shoes. One of his shoes got lost. He swears that it's at Debra's house. She hasn't seen it. My best guess is that he tossed it in the trash and it is gone. Anyway, this is the first time that he has really cared about what his shoes look like. He was very opinionated and vocal. In the end, he got some cute sneakers that look like hiking boots, only they're not high-tops. We got a few more things, too. $60 later, we were done. The boys actually behaved really well in the store. I mean, I got the "buy me's" like usual, but they were able to deal with hearing "no" and without throwing a major tantrum. It's usually easier to run errands alone, but when they can behave nicely, I appreciate the company. Now, they are asleep, Ryan is still at work, and the house is quiet.
