This is it...official countdown time. For a teacher, once Spring Break is over, the end is in sight. So, there are 10 more weeks of school. That is 49 school days. That's not a lot of time. There is so much curriculum left to cover. Yet, when dealing with the bureaucracy that exists in the front office, 10 weeks is an endlessly long time. It all boils down to this: You have to give respect in order to earn respect. We're given none. *sigh* The only good thing about the misery is the fact that every single person on staff feels the same way. How is that good? Well, it reassures me that I'm not just being difficult. And, if you really think about it, I'm lucky. I get to be in my classroom all day, doing my own thing, away from it all. The office staff is going nuts. Morale is at an all time low. Crazy girl that I am, though, I actually still look forward to work. My students are great (well, most of the time) and I love teaching. I just don't like my boss. Win some, lose some I suppose.
Oh yeah, while we're on the subject of losing, I need to emphatically state that whoever thought that losing an hour of sleep on the last night of Spring Break was a good idea needs to seriously have their head examined! UGH!
